FITNESS FUNDRAISER: "WALK TO PLAY"!
We need raise about $2000 to purchase all the equipment needed to teach these games this year. The students will be participating in a fitness fundraiser in the month of September called, "Walk to Play" to raise these funds. Using Pedometers to track their progress students will attempt to collectively walk the distance between all of the locations where the sports their learning to play were invented. This is nearly 10,000 miles!
Students will be seeking pledges as the work towards this goal. Parents and staff are encouraged to join in to have fun and get fit with us. This can be a whole community project. Pedometers with the CLA logo will be available for anyone who wants to help us "Walk to Play" by committing to raise at least $25 and to record their progress weekly on the "Walk to Play" site that will be launched September 1st!
The participant who raises the most funds, will receive a Spike Ball game set as a prize. Info about the fundraiser will be coming home in the first couple weeks of school. If you would like to donate towards this equipment or have any questions please contact me.
